Mega Metal UML flail mulchers, also known as hammer mulchers, are intended for use on all agricultural land and for maintaining green areas and neglected ground. They shred crop residues and branches up to 4 cm thick, and the manufacturer states that the design is intended for intensive use.
Drive is transmitted from the tractor via a PTO shaft to the gearbox input shaft, and from there by belts to the main shaft. They come as standard with hammers, height-adjustable skids and a height-adjustable rear roller.
The three models have the same length of 93 cm and height of 98 cm. The UML 150 has a working width of 150 cm, an overall width of 170 cm, 15 hammers and a weight of 276 kg, and requires a tractor of at least 30 hp (22 kW). The UML 170 works at a width of 170 cm, is 190 cm wide, has 16 hammers and weighs 298 kg, and requires at least 35 hp (26 kW). The largest, the UML 190, has a working width of 190 cm, an overall width of 210 cm, 18 hammers and a weight of 320 kg, and requires at least 40 hp (30 kW).
