RAS hay tedders

FPM RAS hay tedders are used mainly for spreading and turning cut grass. Evenly spread material dries faster, which reduces losses from crumbling, lowers dependence on bad weather and better preserves the nutrients in the crop.

The rotors have swivelling heads with wheels underneath that follow the ground, so the spring tines pick up the crop evenly and gently and spread it behind the machine. Adjacent rotors turn in opposite directions, so each pair of rotors takes the crop between them. The drive uses claw couplings that need no additional maintenance and protect against breakage, and the rotors can work in any position from horizontal to vertical. The spring tines, made of high-quality spring wire in different lengths, work parallel to the ground with minimal damage to the grass.

The swivelling headstock with a ground-following system and stabilising shock absorbers attaches quickly to category I and II tractors. The wheels adjust the working height and the spreading angle. Two double-acting hydraulic cylinders, controlled from the cab, move the machine between transport and working position, and a mechanical transport lock is released by pulling a rope from the cab. The machine also has safety guards.

The series has three models: the RAS 400/4 with a 4 m working width and four rotors, the RAS 600/6 with 6 m and six rotors, and the RAS 800/8 with 8 m and eight rotors, all with six tine arms per rotor and a 540 rpm PTO. Required tractor power is 15 kW (20 hp) to 66 kW (90 hp), the maximum work rate 4 to 8 ha/h, the transport width 2.5 to 2.85 m and the weight 574 to 1,100 kg.
