DKF disc mowers

FPM DKF disc mowers are rear-mounted tractor mowers for cutting all types of grass and forage crops, roadside verges and for municipal work. The powerful cutter bar with gear transmission stays reliable under intensive use, and the mower can also work in difficult conditions: in lodged and tangled grass, on damp ground, terrain with molehills and slopes, and in moderate rain.

A set of V-belts transmits power to the gearbox. The cutter bar has oval discs for a better flow of the cut crop, and the gear drive runs in an oil bath. The frame has a safety system that automatically releases the cutter bar when it hits an obstacle, a ground-following mechanism and hydraulic lifting of the cutter bar. The mower works on slopes from −45° to +45°.

The series has five models, from the DKF 160/4 with four discs and a working width of 1.6 m to the DKF 320/8 with eight discs and 3.2 m. Each disc carries two knives, the discs turn at 3,030 rpm with a PTO speed of 540 rpm, and the cutting height is 3–9 cm. Required tractor power rises from 21 kW (29 hp) to 41 kW (56 hp), the maximum work rate from 2.5 to 5 ha/h and the weight from 444 to 650 kg. The mower attaches to the three-point linkage of category I and II tractors and needs one single-acting hydraulic valve.
