DKK disc mowers

FPM DKK disc mowers are rear-mounted tractor mowers for cutting all types of grass and forage crops, roadside verges and for municipal work, designed for category II tractors with a 1,000 rpm PTO. They achieve high work rates with low energy consumption and can work in difficult conditions: in lodged and tangled grass, on damp ground, terrain with molehills and slopes, and in moderate rain.

A central floating system lets the cutter bar follow and adapt to the ground up to ±10° from horizontal. A driveshaft transmits power to the central gearbox, and a second driveshaft takes it on to the gearbox on the cutter bar, where spur gears running in oil drive the discs with knives. The frame has a hydraulic safety system for automatic release of the cutter bar, a ground-following mechanism and hydraulic lifting. The conditioner comes in two versions, with tines or with rubber rollers; with the conditioner the mower leaves one even swath, without it up to three swaths.

The series has four models: the DKK-C 260/6 with a 2.6 m working width and six discs, the DKK 300/7 with 3 m and seven discs, and the DKK 340/8 and DKK-C 340/8 with 3.4 m and eight discs. Required tractor power is 66 kW (90 hp) to 81 kW (110 hp), the work rate 2.9 to 3.9 ha/h and the weight 1,160 to 1,560 kg. The discs turn at 3,165 rpm, the cutting height is 4–9 cm and four hydraulic connections are needed.
