DK disc mowers

FPM DK disc mowers are rear-mounted tractor mowers for cutting all types of grass and forage crops, roadside verges and for municipal work. They achieve high work rates with low energy consumption and can work in difficult conditions: in lodged and tangled grass, on damp ground, terrain with molehills and slopes, and in moderate rain.

A set of V-belts transmits power to the gearbox. The discs with knives are driven by a hexagonal shaft and a pair of bevel gears in an oil-filled housing; this drive needs less energy, so the mower also works with lower-powered tractors. The frame has a safety system for automatic release of the cutter bar, a ground-following mechanism and hydraulic lifting of the cutter bar, except on the DK 130/3M, which has mechanical lifting. The mower works on slopes from −45° to +45°.

The series has five models with working widths from 1.3 to 2 m, three to five discs and two knives per disc. The three 1.3 m models differ in lifting and linkage: the DK 130/3M has mechanical lifting, the DK 130/3 1N is for category 1N tractors and the DK 130/3 for categories I and II. Required tractor power is 18 kW (24 hp) to 25 kW (34 hp), the work rate 2 to 3.2 ha/h and the weight 280 to 500 kg. The discs turn at 3,000 rpm with a PTO speed of 540 rpm, and the cutting height is 3–9 cm.
