Cultivators

The Huđik UMK is an inter-row cultivator with flexible S-tine hoes and protective discs, designed for working the soil between rows of maize, beet, sunflower, soya, oilseed rape, legumes, sorghum and vegetables. The hoes cut out and lift weeds with their roots, while the soil is loosened and aerated and the surface crust is broken up. Each section works with its own depth wheel, guide discs help follow the rows on uneven ground, and large toothed protective discs keep plants from being buried.

The table lists nine models, for 4 to 18 rows. Models with the letter K are intended for row spacings of 65, 70, 75 or 76.2 cm, and models with the letter R for spacings of 45 to 50 cm. The minimum tractor power ranges from 40 hp for the UMK-4K to 120 hp for the UMK-12K and UMK-18R, and the maximum working width from 337 to 920 cm. Depending on the model, the wings fold mechanically or hydraulically, with two or four cylinders.

The working speed is 7–14 km/h, with an optimum of 10–12 km/h. The maximum working height of 65 cm allows work even at a later stage of crop growth. Each parallelogram carries 3 hoes for row spacings up to 55 cm and 5 hoes for wider spacings, and the cultivator can be attached to the tractor in three ways. All specifications
